Some enemy Artes will cause status conditions on the player; you need to either cure it with a recovering skill (such as Rutee's Recover or Jude's Recovery Ring) or wait for it to expire.
Playable Characters may also have Artes that have a chance to cause status ailments, either as an initial effect or as a result of Enhancement. For a list of such Artes, see the Status Ailment Category Page.
