Anise was forced to work under Grand Maestro Mohs because of the debts incurred by her gullible parents. Acting as a spy while she was Fon Master Ion’s guardian caused her great pain over betraying her friends and eventually resulted in the loss of someone very dear to her. However, even when plunged into despair, she wiped her tears and went along with Luke in accordance with that person’s final wishes.
